Make Lewes Festival is back with its most ambitious Festival, expanding and extending our first two festivals, focusing on the crossovers between architecture, sustainability, design and making.

Once again we are hosting a lively schedule of Exhibitions, Symposia, Experiments, Workshops and more…

Kinship III  Workshop

25th – 28th September

MLF’s design & make workshop returns with an ambitious new  challenge co-led by Studio Hardie’s William Hardie and tangentfield’s Sally Daniels

Kinship III – Geodesics Talk

As part of the Kinship III workshop architect Kristoffer Tejlgaard will be giving a public talk on his use of geodesics in the 21st century context.

Collaborative Collisions II

MLF’s second Collaborative Collisions will mix up a new set of makers and materials.

Makers Talks Evening

Friday 30th 19.30 – 21.30, Studio Hardie 1, Lewes. (map)

Hosting locally and nationally recognised makers & crafts people, including Ewan Clayton, one of the country’s best known calligrapher’s.

Collaborative Conversations

Friday 30th September, 12:00 – 17:00, Studio Hardie 1, Lewes (map)

A regional crafts symposium organised in partnership with CraftNet and the Crafts Council.

World on the Move

1st October, 19.30 – 22.00, Turkish Baths, Lewes (map)

Humanitarian and Emergency architecture projects from Kigali to Calais. With Julian Belart French student architect working in the Calais Jungle and Nerea Eloyduy co-founder of Active Social Architecture.

Digital DIY Workshop

1st October 11am, Foundry Gallery, Lewes. (map)

This workshop is for anyone involved in making or creativity using traditional or digital tools, creative software for making music or graphics, websites for learning skills or sharing projects, such as Etsy, Youtube, or Instructables.

Making Ground Exhibition

29th September – 2nd October, Foundry Gallery, North Street, Lewes (map)

Making Ground is an Arts Council funded collaborative interdisciplinary project exploring site-specific making at a disused brickworks in Sussex.

Southbank Architecture Student Exhibition

29th – 2nd October, 10.00 – 17.00 – Foundry Gallery, North Street, Lewes. (map)

This exhibition highlights the results of second and third year architecture students from South Bank University whose 2015/16 project used Lewes as it’s context.
